[RECORDING–“Let It Rise”]: Praise the Lord, Everyone! I know that it’s been some time since I made a post, but so much has happened since the last time I have been in GU! I missed ya’ll! I reside in South Carolina, and our quarantine has been over every since May 1st— The governor has said that zoos, amusement parks, and entertainment venues can re-open by Friday. Our beaches have been opened since the beginning of May also. Things are lovely and ‘contagious as can be’ in our great state, but people are happy as long as they can enjoy their pleasure. As for me— JUST give Me JESUS. My days have been pretty confined— Even though I can, I usually do not go anywhere until I have to…. That means to church and back on the weekends! But I say all of this to say that I have developed a new lengthier practice plan, which includes everything from diminished, harmonic minor, and pentatonic scales for each key along with drop-2 7th chords for major, minor, dominant, half -diminished, and diminished chords, chord extensions for sus, major, min, dim, half-dim, and dom. chords. I’ve been practicing hard everyday and trying to change my sound. Here is a clip from a chorus I played from William Murphy entitled, “let it rise”. It gives me great joy when I can implement the concepts I practice so hard into my playing style. This clip features drop-2 7th chords, reharms, Upper Quartal Structure movement, Modal Interchange, and a run from one of the scales I have been practicing. I thank the Lord for giving me inspiration to create this arrangement. #ToTheChiefMusician #LetTHeGloryOFTHeLordRiseAmongUs #TheRoadToAdvancedBeginsHere
